“REACH” is the European Union’s regulation for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals. The REACH regulation entered into force on June 1, 2007, with a primary goal of improving the protection of human health and the environment from risks that can be posed by chemicals.
AstroNova seeks to comply with Regulation 1907/2006 on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals. As part of our compliance, AstroNova has flowed down requirements to our suppliers that the goods they supply contain less than 0.1% by weight of any Candidate List Substance (CLS) or shall notify AstroNova of which CLS’s are present if greater than 0.1% by weight. According to data provided from the manufacturers of the raw materials, they have assessed their products in accordance with the requirements of Article 7(1) of the REACH Regulations (1), based on that analysis, we have determined that products supplied to you do not contain substances that are “intended to be released under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use” within the meaning of that paragraph.
Our manufacturers/suppliers have also stated that raw materials used in the production of AstroNova thermal transfer ribbons, inkjet inks and toners as well as pressure sensitive labels & tags, do not contain any substances or substance groups identified as SVHC’s in a concentration above 0.1% Wlw in accordance with the requirements of Article 33 of REACH. Please know that AstroNova does not intentionally add any of these SVHC’s to its printing supplies such as pressure sensitive labels, tags, thermal transfer ribbons, inkjet inks or toners.
Additionally, in regard to Directive 1907/2006 EC Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances of the European Parliament and of the Counsel of the European Union, AstroNova is not required to register, however; the suppliers of raw materials for AstroNova may be required to register. We hereby certify that AstroNova printing supplies, sold under the QuickLabel, TrojanLabel and GetLabels brands, are supplied to our customers in compliance with the most recent provisions of the REACH Directive under Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.
